About CREOLE CUISINE

Another thing that most of the visitors to these islands fall in love with is the food in Seychelles. And there are good reasons for that. From freshly caught fish to locally grown fruits, from spicy curries to sweet fried bananas, there is something for every taste.

Seychellois cuisine has been influenced by multiethnic people of Indian, Chinese, African, French and English origins. The most important characteristic of this cuisine is the careful mixing of the spices. Coconut milk and breadfruit are very often used by locals. The Seychelles specialties include coconut curries, bouillon brede, Kari Chauve-Souris or Kari Bernique and Salade de Palmiste, which are made from coconut palms.
