Snorkel with the local young Green Turtles. This underwater activity makes for a great experience on Bird Island. Snorkeling protected by the reef is easy and safe.
Go kayaking
For a little fun or an easy exercise, we offer our two-person kayak. Perfect for slow paddling across the bay or a determined circumnavigation.
Kayaking is a fantastic way to get up close to the marine life in our surrounding waters and allows you to take in the beautiful Bird Island shoreline. As you look down into the clear blue shallows, the occasional turtle, octopus, stingray or watch the many brightly colored fish swim across the reef.
Kayaking is a free activity. No equipment rental.
Nature trails and bird watching go hand in hand on Bird Island. You can't go the trails without engaging in bird watching. Experience the birds' nesting and advertising habits. Find the chicks that are being fed Be amazed by the frigate birds that take over the sky.
But it's not just about the birds. As you near the beaches, learn about the hawksbill turtles, which visit between October and February, and the thousands of hatchlings that race around the ocean from December to March.
